Marissa A. Mastroianni is an associate in the firm’s Employment, Litigation, and Cannabis practice groups. Marissa litigates on a broad spectrum of employment litigation matters before federal and state courts, arbitration tribunals, and administrative agencies. She is dedicated to assisting clients in matters involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, wage and hour disputes, breach of employment contracts, restrictive covenant disputes, and class and collective actions.
Clients from across industries turn to Marissa for counsel on employment and compliance matters. She routinely prepares employee handbooks, policies and various types of employment agreements as well as conducts workplace investigations and harassment and discrimination awareness training for employers. Her clients include members from the healthcare, construction, pharmaceutical, real estate, advertising, health and nutrition, food, and textile industries.
Prior to joining Cole Schotz, Marissa worked as a labor and employment associate for Proskauer Rose LLP. She also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Stephan C. Hansbury, P.J. Ch. (ret.) of the Chancery Division-General Equity Part. During her clerkship, she wrote opinions for cases involving injunctive relief and business dissolutions.
During law school, Marissa worked as a law clerk at a prominent plaintiffs’ law firm and interned for the Honorable Michael A. Shipp at the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. She also served as an associate editor of the Seton Hall Law Review and a member of the Philip C. Jessup International Moot Court Team.
Marissa earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law cum laude and her B.A. in international relations and political science from Lehigh University with highest honors.
